A good appraiser understands how restrictions, markets, evidence, sources, comparisons, and intended use affect the outcome of the document. Your input provides the framework; the appraiser then does the research. The confidential results, including narrative and photographs, is about 15 pages in length, and is printed, professionally bound and mailed to you.

Did you know that according to the IRS, "taxpayers are required to obtain a qualified appraisal for donated property for which a deduction of more than $5,000 is claimed"?
As a Certified Equine Appraiser, Rita Timpanaro* develops her value opinions in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). These are the national standards used in the appraisal industry by all professional appraisers. By complying with USPAP, Rita’s value opinions are developed based on facts and other pertinent information, market research and analysis and the use of nationally recognized appraisal methodology. A professional equine appraiser’s goal is to determine a horse’s value based on what the proper market indicates it is worth at a given point in time.

How is the Economy Affecting the Current Value of Your Horse?

With Rita Timpanaro’s strong background in the equine industry and business management, coupled with her professional appraisal training and good standing with the American Society of Equine Appraisers, you are assured of a competent, professional product delivered in a timely fashion.

What Will be Needed to Get Your Horse Appraised?
Here is a brief synopsis:

  • First know that your horse appraisal is unique and that all appraisals are kept strictly confidential.
  • You and Rita will review your needs to determine the intended use of the appraisal. Rita will also need to know the location of the horse(s), copies of several items regarding the horse such as registration, health care, breeding and show records, and the date you need the finished document.
  • Next, you will be provided with an agreement that confirms your work request. A date will be set to complete an on-site inspection visit and photographs.  The fee for an appraisal is $500 plus travel expenses.
